Nandhu Nandhakumar is currently SVP Advanced Technology at LG Electronics, where he sets corporate business and technology strategy related to media delivery to network-connected devices. He leads standards development activities in this area and is responsible for establishing strategic business and technology partnerships.
Earlier, Nandhu served as CTO and VP Engineering of Triveni Digital, an LG Electronics company, where he led the development of products for the management and monitoring of metadata and data in DTV signals. These products have been deployed globally in broadcast stations, network uplinks and cable head-ends of the world's largest media companies. He has also served on the faculties of UT Austin and University of Virginia, Charlottesville, and as founder/director of the image and video processing group at LG Electronics Research Center, Princeton, he led MPEG standards activities and technology development for networked multimedia devices.
Nandhu Nandhakumar has a B.E. in Communications Engineering from Madras University, a M.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from UT Austin. He is a senior member of the IEEE's Consumer Electronics Society and member of the Board of Directors of ATIS and the Coral Consortium.
