Peter Linder is Director of End-to-End Network Solutions in the Product & Portfolio Management at Business Unit Networks. The role involves managing Ericsson’s strategic solution direction for Full Service Broadband networks, covering fixed and mobile Broadband applications, and solutions for Expanding Mobile Networks to address the next billion users. The role involves managing a group of 11 people and being part of the Product & Portfolio Management Team for the Business Unit.
Prior to taking up the current position, he was in charge for the Network strategy group for Broadband networks, when Ericsson integrated the Marconi acquisition and planned for the portfolio expansion that was realized with the acquisitions, late 2006 and early 2007, of Redback Networks and Entrisphere.
Former roles at Ericsson has been as Technical Director for Wireline Networks, Technical Director for Broadband Access, Business Development director for Broadband Access in Americas and various Product Management positions in the field of DSL/HFC/Fiber/LMDS Access and Broadband TV applications
In addition to his responsibilities at Ericsson, has served as Ericsson’s representative on the Board of Ethernet in the First Mile Alliance (EFMA) since the formation of the alliance in 2001 and has also served as the Vice President of Marketing from early 2002 until EFMA morphed into Metro Ethernet Forum in the spring of 2005 after the EFM standard (IEEE 802.3ah) was completed.
He is a frequent speaker at various Broadband events, with international appearances and has since 2002 been an Ericsson spokesperson at Industry events as towards Press, Financial analysts and Industry analysts. Performance has been done in English, Spanish and Swedish.
He joined Ericsson in 1991 on a program for Telecommunication system engineers and has during his career been holding positions in Sweden, the US and Mexico. Between 1993 and 2001 he held various product management and management positions in the Broadband access area for Ericsson, covering a wide range of products such as DSL, LMDS, HFC and Fiber Ethernet access as well as broader solution offerings for Interactive Video applications.
He graduated from Chalmers Institute of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1991 with a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering as well as an M.B.A. in International Business Management.
