Jon has worked in the telecommunications industry for the past 25 years in a diversity of roles that include engineering, marketing, sales and strategy development. He joined Cisco in 1999, working with Service Providers to develop business cases and business plans to support the rollout of IP networks.
Jon joined the Mobile business in Cisco in 2000 where he was instrumental in setting the technical strategy underpinning Cisco’s entrance in to the mobile market. His current role within Cisco, as Director, Mobile Service Provider Marketing, is to drive the global mobile marketing campaign. This campaign involves developing and driving Cisco’s vision for the evolution of both networks and business models across the Mobility segment, business users and the consumer market.
Prior to joining Cisco he was at GPT/Siemens, where he worked on network design & development in both the fixed and mobile arenas. This included developing software for both fixed and mobile switches and Intelligent Network systems. Other roles include leading the technical sales team at Fujitsu in Europe where he dealt with technologies such as ADSL, SDH, Microwave radio and UMTS.
Jon has an MSc in Software Engineering.
