Bill DeMuth began his career at SureWest, one of the nation’s the leading independent communications holding companies, in 1976 and thereafter held various positions with increasing responsibility. In addition to his current responsibilities in strategic planning and business development, DeMuth focuses on assessing new technologies and overseeing corporate technology initiatives. Under his technological leadership over the last 10 years, SureWest has progressed from a local telephone company into one of the world’s most respected providers of advanced communications technology. DeMuth spearheaded SureWest’s expansion and transformation into a leading broadband overbuilder providing advanced services, such as the fastest Internet speeds in the United States and the country’s first IP-based high definition service, over an IP-based fiber-to-the-home network.
He serves on the United States Telecom Association's engineering committee, is a member of the Board of Directors for ATIS, a technical planning and standards development organization, and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Placer County Child Abuse Prevention Council. DeMuth holds a master’s degree in telecommunications management from Golden Gate University and a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology from California State Polytechnic University.
